Ordered food, it was really delicious!
Wrong dish given, very rude on phone call, not accommodating!
Always perfect service and fantastic, delicious food.
Super delicious food, but it is hardly possible to order more than 3/4 degree of heat if you are not a regular guest. The service is also very entertaining, so dining with friends or family is fun.
One of the best Indian restaurants in Erlangen, heavily underrated. Good tasty dishes. You can choose your spice level. The pappad you get is the bench mark. you can increase or decrease from this level. Home delivery also is well executed.
star = 0, better to eat a packet of chilli than the so called "spicy food" here.
First of all, food was cold. I ordered Karahi Paneer and I don't know what it was. Paneer was rubber like and also yellow Karahi paneer? Tandoori roti was hard. Wasted my money today.
Really Indian. Really good. And very friendly
Fantastic food, also vegan-friendly, and the degree of spiciness can be selected individually for each dish! :)
Special but ingenious. Don't be too brave when choosing the level of spiciness. But when you have found your level incredibly good
No place because 1 person. Everything was empty
Great food if you like it spicy
Our favorite restaurant in Erlangen for 26 years. Incomparable top cuisine and consistent quality for decades. Very cozy restaurant and the courtyard is also inviting. Nice owner, here we Franconia and Hungary feel at home. It couldn't be better !!! Must try !!! Christian & Zita
It always tastes good, the people are nice and it is my favorite food
On time delivery. The food was very good and hot. I personally find the concept with the degree of sharpness great!
Very tasty, our favorite Indian in Erlangen. The staff is very friendly. Unfortunately, the restaurant is very small and parking is extremely poor. But the delicious food is worth it. Highly recommended!
The food is not bad, but it's lacking a lunch menu, and therefore quite expensive. Compared with other restaurants in town it's just average.
Food was ok, a little bland and spices and salt was not in proper proportion. It appeared like it was done in a hurry. They were accepting card so I didn't check with them specifically. After the check/bill given, he said the card is not accepted. I had no way to keep go to a nearby Bank ATM. He made me keep my Mobile as a mortgage till I come back. I went searching for an Indian restaurant. This restaurant proved that no matter where ever some people go, they won't leave their nature, especially the bad ones. Disappointed.
Food was ok ok not good. They didn't accept card for 15.80 euros. Looks like they don't have any sales due to poor quality.
We had a great evening! All of the food was freshly prepared but quickly. A big compliment goes to our waitress, who served and advised us in a very nice and friendly manner. I can recommend a visit to this restaurant to everyone! Especially suitable for visitors who like black food.
Chef and wait staff are always friendly and accommodating. Ambiance is nothing special but OK. Cleanliness top. Food has always been great and immaculate. Price performance absolutely fine. Always like to come here - keep up the good work.
If you do not like it here, you will not understand Indian cuisine. I think it's delicious! Windows are dense, is not everyone's thing, but so one escapes the hustle and bustle for some time and can enjoy his meal with quiet music relaxed! 5 stars from the SHIRTHUNTER
Had a very good meal, Indian spicy was Indian spicy, nice service and what I really loved was the possibility to select the spiciness level based on the list in the menu! Would love to see this more!
Very tasty, very nice, very authentic. Especially good, the severity levels are very finely graded and you will be well advised. Gladly again!
Really Spicy food if you want some. However there are different level of spices and you can choose your own spice level for all the dishes that they serve. That's one unique thing about Sur Mandir! Lots of variety of dishes however the space inside the restaurant is very limited although well decorated and gives very much Indian vibes.
Average food even though the spread of the food is goid
Food is not good and they charge 2 euro per glass of water
The ambiance is very nice, with pleasant outdoor seating included. The food tasted just OK . We ordered a Paneer Sabzi costing 13 euros. It's not a must visit place.
Best spicy scale I have experienced. Be careful after Indo- Germanic.
Best Indian far and wide, I have been a guest there for over 20 years. A wonderful selection of different dishes with consistent quality. A MUST go .... !!!!! for everyone who loves Indian food.
The food is OK, basically nothing to cheer about. The quantity however is only good for 1 person. I would have give 4 stars but deducted it because of rude behaviour. Rice and Salad is complimentary with each main serving and when I requested to change rice with salad, the owner bluntly refused which made the so far OK experience sour. Will go there again only if I do not have any other option available.
Very good Indian restaurant with authentic cuisine. You can choose the degree of severity from a scale in the menu. Only one should be careful with it! Already the mildest level is neatly spicy for not accustomed to sharpness Central Europeans. The owner points out when ordering.
Nice Indian restaurant in Erlangen! You could find an almost indian flavor from here. If you looking for an Indian restaurant, please visit here!
Great place
Expensive for the quality, and all currys looks similar and taste.
Good
Best Indian restaurant in Erlangen
Interesting idea with a Papadom before ordering as a means to judge how hot a client wants the meal. Unfortunately the food itself was rather non-descript.
best inder in town! do it!
They put lot of artificial colours in the food which might be not good for your health !!!!!
Not testy, dint liked the food. Expensive compare to food quality
Freaky
First time visit. Good food. Cozy environment. Scaled spice levels for those that have sensitive palates. Personally, I finally found a place with proper Indian spice level (for me “Indian plus” at this restaurant). The waitress was also nice.

Very good and authentic food. I like the spiciness. (The warning that it would be too spicy for me was a bit rude, but after insisting I got what I wanted.) I highly recommend the vindaloo. Ambiance is good (live pakhawaj drumming when I was there). Owner is friendly (although a bit stubborn) and the service was fine. I can appreciate the advice that German beer is better than Indian beer, very honest and funny.
How horrible Indian food can you get!!!
Rude staff, long wait, food ok.
Ambiance is good. Food was average. Naan was very delicious and soft. Paneer vegetable had old paneer. Gravy was quite nice. Overall not a bad one. I would request restaurant owner to use fresh paneer and accept bank cards.
Great Indian food in 9 very well-matched levels of severity: from "European" to "Indo-European" to "super-Indian". There's something for everyone. Tip: feel your way from below to the sharpness scale. The friendly staff will be happy to help. We recommend!
Unable to give zero stars... forced to give one star for this review. Below average and bad service... ?
